Hello, my name is Megan, owner and operator of The Highlands Kitchen + Bar. I have 18 years experience in the restaurant industry, bartending being my favorite position. My passion for the bar is evident in our fun and creative cocktails that can be found on our menus. I have always had a love for food. I enjoy cooking, eating and take pleasure in what food can offer while being surrounded by people you love. The best experiences can be found at a dinner table and this is one reason why The Highlands strive for impeccable service and cuisine. 

I planted my roots here in NC a few years ago from Southwest Florida. I am known as a "half back" as I'm originally from Michigan. I have two little tots, Victoria and Trenton, you will see their names sprinkled throughout the menus. I left Florida with my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and began down a new unexpected path. We began our new adventure by creating our own restaurant, The Highlands Kitchen + Bar. 

The Highlands Kitchen + Bar is a full-service restaurant which overlooks The Broad River (relocated from Lake Lure) with luxurious mountain views. The Highlands strives to provide 'A Welcome To Our Home" feel by creating memorable moments that matter. We showcase elegant arrays of fresh, local, exotic fare and signature libations. 

We have worked to package our meals in a way that lets you bring the quality of our meals into your home. We always love to see you in person, but even when we can't, we ensure that your dining experience is top notch!
